Sonic Riders Hub
A downloadable game for Windows
OVERVIEW
“Sonic Riders Hub” is a small scale interactive experience that exists to demonstrate what my ideal Sonic Riders game could look like, if SEGA chose to revive the series. It is not meant to be a fully playable game, just an interactive pitch.
Key features of this hypothetical game would be as listed below:
- In-game graphics and shaders that closely mimic the original Riders concept art
- Character creation and customization, or at least just the latter with established characters
- A hubworld where you can walk around and have access to shops and queue for races similar to Splatoon
- Racing to earn rings, which you can use in the hubworld shops to buy more clothing or extreme gears
I hope you enjoy this free, fanmade creation!

I love this, mind adding a save customization option? Feels a bit funny constantly recreating the same thing.
Personally I would love a saving function as well. I cannot implement it because my programmer has moved on from this project, sorry!
Damn...
I think I got myself stuck. Despite what you think of the image, I am stuck mid-air, unable to change directions and I already used my jumps. Might need to patch that out.
Oh shoot, just tested it now and yeah, that was really easy to get snagged there. Thanks for letting me know! I'm patching it now. ^^
glad to help share feedback.
who is that?
(this was the best image quality i could get)
Haha someone finally noticed huh? XD
I just felt like sneaking that in there because it was so funny to look at while I was setting up the NPCs around the place. It's actually what the character models look like without anything equipped, even without the muzzles, the eyebrows and hair. Without anything equipped they just look like eyeball men, haha~
hey! Just recently, I’ve come up with a similar concept, adapting Sonic Riders to a hub similar to yours, with character having unique abilities which they can use to interact with the environment. The defining factor, however, I wish to be is being able to race within said hub world, being barricaded off, with other players being able to spectate from the sidelines. But I guess I can only dream
I am liking this. Can't wait for more

fantastic concept
Thank you!
I can see an MMOhuts video from the late 2000s - early 2010s covering this game lol i love this
Honestly this is an awesome concept! I used to play both the first game and Zero Gravity until my consoles stopped working. Getting even more into it with the level and customization as Splatoon would make me think getting my Switch 1 was entirely worth it! Thank you for sharing the idea with us and even letting us get to try it out!
Glad you enjoyed it! If only Sega could see the potential as well, haha.
